Lake Tawakoni State Park

This lakeside park offers hike-and-bike trails, miles of shoreline and a boat ramp in a wooded setting. More than 40 acres of native prairie--rare for East Texas--serve as habitat for more than 250 bird species. The park has some of the newest camping sites in the state park system, two large picnic areas, and an area that can be reserved for youth groups (up to 48 people). Parking fee.
