Texas Independence Day Celebration

This event celebrates the anniversary of the historic meeting that produced the documents declaring Texas independent from Mexico and gave rise to the Republic of Texas. Guests step back into history to experience life in Texas in 1836 by visiting with re-enactors and witnessing firing demonstrations in the Texas Army camps as well as a virtual townsite tour. Attendees can walk the same trail as Texas' forefathers and pioneer families and witness cooking, weaving and period craft demonstrations. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site, 23400 Park Road 12.
