Bankhead Highway Visitor Center

The center is housed in the 1868 home of Henry Clay Thruston, the tallest soldier in the Confederate Army during the Civil War (listed at 7 feet, 7.5 inches tall). It is located along the historic Bankhead Highway. Quilting demonstrations are offered.

Open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tue. and Thu., and other times by appointment.
