The largest seasonal outdoor ice rink in the Southwest is open for the season. Visitors also can wander through illuminated holiday scenes and storybook displays around the rink each evening from dusk until 11 p.m. Lake Robbins Drive at Six Pines Drive.

This living-history event features music, entertainment, food, crafts, games and other activities. Booming cannons, musket fire, thundering hooves and battle cries resound as hundreds of history re-enactors recreate the events leading up to Texas winning independence from Mexico at the decisive Battle of San Jacinto. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, 1 Monument Circle.
