"Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America Through Galveston Island"

This exhibit chronicles the Port of Galveston's largely forgotten role as an important immigration gateway for hundreds of thousands of immigrants even before Ellis Island opened its port. Features include original artifacts and documents that tell dramatic stories of migration to America through Galveston Island and the socioeconomic impact of immigration on Texas.
