"Sounding Together: 100 Years of the Austin Symphony"
Sep 13, 2011 - Feb 12, 2012
In April of 1911, the Austin Symphony Orchestra played its first public concert at the Hancock Opera House. To celebrate the symphony's centennial, the Austin History Center presents this exhibit with documents and artifacts that trace the symphony's history from its beginnings as an informal group of Austin classical music enthusiasts to its present status as a leading professional symphony orchestra. A concert in Wooldridge Square Park, 2-4 p.m., also celebrates this exhibit. Austin History Center, 810 Guadalupe St.
