In a rural church cemetery a few miles southeast of Franklin is the grave of
the last surviving Civil War veteran, who died in 1959. Gen. Walter Washington
Williams, a Confederate soldier, is buried in Mount Pleasant church cemetery,
southeast less than four miles off F.M. 2446.
