Restored beaux-arts colonial mansion and carriage house built from 1906–08.
The main house showcases original possessions and lifestyles of a wealthy
Southeast Texas family during the first half of the 20th century. The carriage
house contains servants' quarters and other displays designed to show the
support function this building played in operation of the estate. Guided tours
of the house begin every half-hour. Children must be age 8 or older to tour the
main house; children of all ages are welcome at the carriage house. Reservations
advisable. Open 10–11:30 a.m. and 1–3 p.m. Tue.–Sat., and 1–3 p.m. Sun.
