Two sites on Lake Somerville offer camping, boat ramps, fishing, swimming and a bike trail. From town, the Birch Creek Area on the north shore is about 15 miles west; take Texas 36 north to F.M. 60, go west to Park Road 57, and turn south. Nails Creek Area on south shore is about 32 miles southwest of town; take Texas 36 south and F.M. 290 west to Burton, then go northwest on F.M. 1697 and turn right on F.M. 180 to the park.
