Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington
Photographer: Michael Amador

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

Cool off at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor with more than 3 million gallons of invigorating water. Take a twist on the Tornado, as the tubes hug the inside of the tunnel, splashing back and forth on 5,000 gallons of swirling water. Standing four stories high and 83 feet wide, the Mega Wedgie launches guests down the sides of its wings, achieving speeds of up to 23 miles per hour. Enjoy ocean-sized waves in Surf Lagoon, take a leisurely float around the park on the lazy river or catch the perfect wave on Surf Rider. For relaxing in the sun, there is Hook's Lagoon, a 1-million-gallon activity pool with a waterfall and a suntan deck. Open weekends spring and fall; daily during summer. Admission and parking fees. From I-30 between Dallas and Fort Worth, take the exit for Texas 360 North or Texas 157 North to Lamar Boulevard. 817/265-3356. www.sixflags.com.
