Built in 1862 by Thomas Gibbs, it's the only Greek Revival-style dwelling in
the city. Gibbs was one of the city's early businessmen and was often visited at
the home by personal friend Sam Houston. Today, the house is a Recorded Texas
Historic Landmark and has been declared an archaeological landmark by the Texas
Antiquities Committee. Open 1–4:30 p.m. Sat.–Sun. Admission charge. 1228 11th
