Built like a dairy barn, complete with silo, the center tells the story of
the dairy industry. Exhibits recall early milk production and manufacturing,
including a 1930s kitchen scene with mother separating cream while a child
churns butter, and an early-day barn scene. There's also an old-time soda
fountain and a general-store gift shop. Open 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Mon.–Sat. Donations
accepted. In Civic Center Complex, 1210 Houston St. (Texas 11). 903/439-MILK
