Owens Spring Creek Farm

Commercial sausage-making firm maintains a showcase farm and small museum with old-time blacksmith shop, farm kitchen, antiques and vintage sausage-making equipment. Also includes a petting farm and miniature ponies.

Miss Belle's Place, a two-story farmhouse built in 1887, is one of oldest houses in Richardson. It is furnished to reflect the turn-of-the-century era when it was a private school conducted by Miss Belle. Open 9 a.m.–4 p.m. daily. Off Texas 5, two miles northeast of its intersection with U.S. 75, at 1403 E. Lookout Drive. 972/235-0192.

One of Dallas' oldest shopping districts, Knox-Henderson has also become a hot spot for dining and nightlife. Revitalized in the mid-1990s, many of the original 1920s store fronts remain. On the west side, Knox Street boasts a variety of restaurants as well as unique furniture stores and antique galleries. Henderson Street, on the east side of Central, has restaurants and clubs, and it is known for its own selection of small antique shops and galleries.
