Old Spanish Trail

During the 1920s, the Gunter Hotel was the headquarters for building the southern U.S. Transcontinental Auto Highway, commemorated by the 0-mile stone marker on the City Hall lawn. Old Spanish Trail (OST) began in Florida and continued to California. It was critical to the development of Texas many centuries ago. Decorative stone bench recognizing OST is at 3400 Fredericksburg Road. 210/735-3503. www.oldspanishtrailcentennial.com.
