Old Sonora Ice House Ranch Museum

Museum features an eclectic mix of memorabilia and artifacts to educate and entertain visitors about the area's ranching history from the late-19th and early 20th centuries. It also gives a glimpse of the lives of pioneers that developed the rugged area when a newly-discovered deep water well drilling technique opened up the parched prairie to farming sheep, cattle and goats. Also featured are Sonora relics and a special exhibit about Will Carver, a member of the "Wild Bunch" gang that met his fate in Sonora. 206 S. Water Ave. 325/387-3754. www.sonoratexas.org.
