Museum Of Texas Tech University

Internationally recognized museum houses collection in the arts, humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. Star shows available in adjoining Moody Planetarium. Also visit the museum's Lubbock Lake Landmark, Natural Science Research Laboratory and the Val Verde County research site. Notable exhibits include the Diamond M Fine Art Gallery and the Helen DeVitt Jones Auditorium and Sculpture Garden. Featured Attraction

Includes the Charles Goodnight Hall, which recounts the establishment of JA Ranch and the protection of the southern herd of the American bison; a Hall of Honor for Armstrong County servicemen; and a booth honoring the Boy Scouts. Works from regional artists also are on display. Next door, the Gem Theater is used for educational and entertainment programs. The campus also includes a one-room schoolhouse, a cowboy line shack and historic windmill. Newest additions include a wing about JA Ranch and the offsite Charles Goodnight House (12 miles east of Claude) that is being restored to its condition circa 1912.
