Built in 1912, this historic Santa Fe Railroad and Fred Harvey landmark is owned by the Slaton Railroad Heritage Association. The building, which received a Texas Historical Commission marker, is an example of Mission Revival architecture. Its location—the railroad district near the Slaton Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad depot—makes it a good spot for looking at trains close up. Also serves as public event center and a bed-and-breakfast. Open for tours 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Thu.–Sat. Donation suggested for tours. 400 Railroad Ave. 806/828-5900.
