Housed in old post office, built in 1935. Includes Spanish Colonial
architecture in the lobby. Museum was chartered in 1976, making the old post
office its home in 1981. The building was designated a Recorded Texas Historic
Landmark in 1991 by the Texas Historical Commission. The museum houses Childress
Army Airfield exhibit, Native American artifacts, theater memorabilia, as well
as school and period rooms. Open 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri. and other times by
