Featured Attraction

The original two-room cabin was built in 1853 near the Lavaca River by Orrin L. Winters, one of the original settlers of the town. It was torn down in 1902, and the lumber was used to construct a barn. In 1973, the barn was dismantled and restored as the original cabin. It was moved to City Park to represent the pioneer heritage of Lavaca County. In city park on West Veterans Drive, just west of Lancaster Street/F.M. 532.
