Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center

Nestled in a heavily wooded area, this five-mile hiking trail meanders through woods across boardwalks over pond, ending at the sandy shores of Spring Creek. It includes programs and exhibits on plant and animal life, as well as a special children's program, in the Nature Center. Open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, except Christmas (8 a.m.–7 p.m. Central Daylight Time).

Pioneer Homestead Museum developed to accurately represent a 1830s pioneer homestead and Native American homestead. Includes a log cabin, smoke house, root cellar, corn crib and shed, log barn and other facilities found on a typical homestead. Two dwellings represent an Akokisa homestead. Dwellings open 1–4 p.m. Wed. and Sat. 20634 Kenswick Drive off F.M. 1960 east. 281/446-8588.
