Jack County Museum

Museum is in the oldest house in Jack County. Two rooms are furnished with period furnishings depicting home life and one room is dedicated to Jack County veterans. See memorabilia on Tom M. Marks, who organized Corn Club, which later became 4-H Club. Also on display is a restored 100-year-old log cabin, furnished with period furniture. Open Thu.–Sat. 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Other times by appointment. 241 W. Belknap, just west of the square.

Composed of several elegant structures, including the Starr-Blake Home and the Maplecroft mansion—the focal point of the grounds—this site illustrates the 150-year history of the Starr family in Texas. This Texas Historical Commission property features period furnishings, clothing and antiques that trace the transition of the buildings through four generations of the Starr family.
