International Festival Institute in Round Top

International Festival Institute

Founded by acclaimed pianist James Dick, the Institute holds monthly forums on music and the arts. In June and July, students from throughout the world join distinguished artists and teachers in performances of orchestral, chamber and solo repertoire. The 217-acre complex is open daily year-round for tours, hiking and biking. Tours of restored buildings available. On Texas 237, five blocks north of Henkel Square. Featured Attraction

Illustrates the history of Shenandoah, South Montgomery County, the timber industry and early beginnings such as the Tamina Settlement and The Woodlands. Displays a tribute to military forces in the Honoring Our Heroes exhibit, plus an exhibit devoted to Shenandoah's most famous resident—David the Bubble Boy. His family has donated photos, mementos and items from the Smithsonian Institute to the museum for display.
