Built in 1928 as an oil-storage facility, the huge tank was abandoned because
of leakage. Converted in 1987 to a museum, it features the relocated and
restored Holman House, which served as a hotel at the terminus of Monahans-Fort
Stockton Stage Line early in the 20th century, plus period furnishings. Site
includes the first Ward County jail, antique oil field equipment display and an
amphitheater. Open daily. 400 Museum Blvd., on U.S. 80, 1.5 miles east of city.
