Heritage Museum

San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railroad artifacts are displayed here. The Leather Room features the history of the leather industry from Chisholm Trail drives to the first tannery, along with vintage leather products from 1900 to the creative workmanship in leather goods today. Open 1–5 p.m. Tue. and Thu.–Fri., and 2–5 p.m. Sun. 312 Simpson St.

Features a state-of-the-art digital projection system with a 10-speaker surround sound and reclining seats in the $28 million Science Building, which opened in 2006. Public shows are at 7 and 8 p.m. Friday, and shows for school groups are on weekdays. Reservations encouraged.
