Hearne Railroad Depot Museum And Visitor Information Center

This restored 1901 depot building at the crossing of two major rail lines features antique furnishings and exhibits of local history items, photographs and railroad memorabilia. A 12-acre nature preserve features mature native woodlands, trails, wetlands and butterfly gardens. Some birds include groove-billed ani, long-billed thrasher, olive sparrow and green jay. More than 70 kinds of butterflies have been documented on the property. Visitor center open 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Sun.–Fri. and 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Sat.
