The museum, operated by the Gulf Coast Chapter of the National Railway
Historical Society, preserves and displays a collection of equipment, artifacts
and memorabilia related to the history of railroading in and around Houston,
Texas and the U.S. Some items on display include a multi-bedroom sleeping car,
two functional cabooses and a Texas-Mexican railroad locomotive. The museum's
visitor center is housed in a former Santa Fe baggage car. Open March–Nov. 11
a.m.–4 p.m. Sat. and 1–4 p.m. Sun. Admission charge. 7390 Mesa Road.
