Located on property granted by the Republic of Texas in 1845, the cemetery
honors remains of the original Texas settlers of McKinney, including Dr. James
Webb Throckmorton, who was governor of Texas in 1866–67. In addition, headstones
mark burials of 203 veterans of the Texas Revolution, the Mexican War, Civil
War, World Wars I and II, the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Texas 5 at
