The original church was built in 1892 but destroyed by the 1900 hurricane. In
1912, San Antonio architect Leo Dielmann designed a Gothic-style sanctuary, and
Wallis builder Jan Bujnoch built the new sanctuary with help from volunteer
parishioners. Construction began in 1913 and was completed two years later. It
is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Self-guided tours 9
a.m.–6 p.m. daily. 5610 Demel St. 979/478-6532.
