Featured Attraction

In 1901, an inspired preacher-inventor built an airship based on the description in the Biblical book of Ezekiel. Said to have flown briefly in 1902, the machine was destroyed in a rail accident on its way to 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. A historical marker was placed at the original building site, Pittsburg Foundry on Fulton Street. A full-size replica of the airship is displayed in the Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Center & Museum. 204 W. Marshall. 903/856-1200. www.pittsburgtxmuseum.com.
