One of five largest in state; more than 173 species of animals displayed in natural habitats. Special features are the Creepy Crawler Center, Wetlands, giraffe bridge and black rhinos.

Open 9 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, and until 9 p.m. on Thursdays from Memorial Day–Labor Day. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Admission charge. In Nelson Park, at Texas 36 and Loop 322 across from the Taylor County Expo Center. 325/676-6085. www.abilenetx.com/zoo.
