The Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas

The Sixth Floor Museum

This permanent, educational exhibition at Dealey Plaza covers the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Exhibits feature photographs, artifacts, a 30-minute audio tour and six films. Visit the seventh floor gallery for rotating exhibits throughout the year. The Visitor Center at the former Texas School Book Depository has elevators up to the sixth floor. Open noon–6 p.m. Mon. and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Tue.–Sun. Closed Christmas. Ticket sales stop one hour before closing. 411 Elm St. 214/747-6660. www.jfk.org.

Other Kennedy Memorials include a historical marker on Houston Street near Elm Street, which marks the spot where President Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963. The Cenotaph and Memorial Park at Main and Market streets is a landscaped city block with an open-style monument dedicated to the slain president.
