Nestled amid 15 acres in the city, River Bend Nature Works is an environmental education center. Visitors enjoy the wetland pond, the bird habitat, bird watching and other activities. A one-mile interpretive nature trail loops through the site; one-half mile of the trail is wheelchair-accessible. Pavilion features picnic tables and wheelchair-accessible rest rooms. Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly Conservatory is a 7,000-square-foot glass structure that rises more than 47 feet in the air and features 120 species of native wildflowers, shrubs and trees and hundreds of native and migratory species of butterflies.
