Originally constructed of wood in El Canyon de las Casas Amarillas (The
Canyon of the Yellow Houses) on the XIT Ranch in 1887 to a height of 132 feet.
The original famous windmill blew down on Thanksgiving Day in 1926. The replica
is 114 feet. U.S. 84 at XIT Avenue.
