Madison County Museum

This refurbished turn-of-the-century bank building is home to a museum, which contains artifacts from Madison County citizens such as the Truman Kimbro family. Kimbro was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for his service in 1944 as a Technician Fourth Class during the Battle of the Bulge. Rotating exhibits include antique wedding dresses, quilts and a commemoration of veterans of World War II. Open 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Wed.–Sat. 201 N. This 52-acre park is an archeological site, an archaic wetlands and a desert botanical garden. Middle Archaic ruins on site are more than 4,500 years old. The park is visited by more than 200 bird species migrating to Central and South America. The Audubon Society has documented 201 bird species at the park.
