Beaty-Orton House, built in 1888 by Sen. John
Thomas Beaty, is an outstanding example of Victorian architecture. It was
restored to its original beauty and is furnished with antiques. Tours are 8
a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri. 409/384-2650.
Belle-Jim Hotel was built in 1910 by Mamie Patten
and named for her children, Belle and Jim. Open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri.

Swann Hotel, built in 1901 by A.L. Dunkin for his
family home, was purchased by the Swann family in 1915 and converted into a
hotel. Open 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri. 877/489-9717.
