Tree-shaded picnic area beside picturesque Salado Creek, which was Texas'
first designated natural landmark. Site was a Native American campground long
before recorded history. Since Main Street was part of the Chisholm Trail, ruts
from wagon wheels still appear in the bedrock of the creek just north of the
park.
