The Corsicana Visitor Center

The Corsicana Visitor Center is housed in a restored 1895 railroad freight office at 301 S. Beaton St. It's the starting point of a walking tour of 27 downtown historic sites. Guide books available. Visitor information available outside the building after hours. Open 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Mon.–Sat. 877/648-2688. www.visitcorsicana.com.

South Texas history comes alive through tours of historic Harlingen buildings. Step inside the Paso Real Stagecoach Inn, built during the Civil War. Marvel at the vintage medical equipment on display in the city's first hospital. Glimpse daily life inside the home of city founder Lon C. Hill, which features many original family possessions.
