From 1908–48, the Texas Electric Railway ran from Denison to Waco, linking
small rural towns to big cities such as Dallas and Fort Worth. Plano's
Interurban Station was completed in 1908 and served as passenger depot and
electric station. Plano restored the building to its original condition in the
1980s. Today, the museum contains memorabilia of railway history, an overview of
Plano's history and a restored TER Car open for tours. Open 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Mon.–Fri. and 1–5 p.m. Sat. Free. but donations welcome. In Haggard Park, 901 E.
