Austin City Limits Tour

PBS' longest running program, "Austin City Limits"—first broadcast from the KLRU studios on the University of Texas at Austin campus in 1976. After 36 years, the studios moved to its new, downtown ACL Live at the Moody Theater, where it continues to showcase great American musical talents, hosting 60-100 concerts a year in addition to free Austin City Limits TV show tapings. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame designated the original studios (and show) a historic rock 'n' roll site. Free tours of the original location (2054 Whitis Unit B) are available at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays. Free tickets to tapings are distributed by lottery, typically a week before the taping. Visit the website for a taping schedule and ticket details. 310 W. Second St., Willie Nelson Blvd. 512/471-4811. www.austincitylimits.org
