More than 1,200 years ago, a group of Caddo, known as Hasinai, built a
village and ceremonial center. Today, three earthen mounds still rise from the
lush Piney Woods landscape at this Texas Historical Commission property.
Discover the everyday life of the Caddo people through exhibits and displays;
view the earthen mounds that were used for burials, temples and religious
ceremonies; and uncover the mystery of this ancient site. Open 8:30 a.m.–4:30
p.m. Tue.–Sun. Admission charge. On Texas 21, six miles southwest of Alto.
