Scenic Drives near Coldspring

Several Forest Service roads through Sam Houston National Forest offer close views of tangled, undisturbed area known as the Big Thicket. One route is to Double Lake Recreation Area south of Coldspring about 4 miles via Texas 150 west, F.M. 2025 and a Forest Service Road.
