Moody Gardens

242-acre multi-complex destination that includes attractions, hotel and golf course. Existing now are:

Aquarium Pyramid has more than 100,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space and nearly two million gallons of water. Within the 10-story blue glass pyramid, explore the ocean waters from various regions. Starting off in the North Pacific and continuing through the South Pacific, South Atlantic and Caribbean, these waters showcase marine creatures, providing entertainment and educational opportunities. Highlights include the South Atlantic penguin exhibit, featuring more than 100 penguins, and a walk-through Caribbean tunnel. The pyramid is built in two levels, which allows views of the animals from above the water and from the depths of the exhibits. Touch tanks are placed throughout the tour that allow visitors to touch marine life and learn more about the ocean waters that surround the earth. Admission fee.

Discovery Pyramid is the pink pyramid that features traveling exhibits. With routinely changing exhibits, it always offers a new, exciting and educational experience. Past exhibits have included the wonders of space, Titanic artifact exhibit and exhibit about the bones in the body. Learn something new while having fun. Within this pyramid is the Ridefilm Theater, which offers motion-based films. Viewers strap themselves in and hold on during this thrilling adventure that takes place on a 180-degree wraparound screen. Admission fee.

Rainforest Pyramid is an exotic adventure through the rain forests of Asia, Africa and South America. Features more than 10,000 species of tropical plants that are an ever-changing array of exciting colors and types of plant life. Numerous ponds along the pathways are filled with different tropical fish. Admission fee.

Palm Beach is a white sand beach with freshwater swimming lagoons, splash pad and the Aquarium Adventure aquatic playground. Whirlpools and sand volleyball courts are also found. Open May–Sept. Admission fee.

IMAX® 3-D Theater houses a six-story screen. Slipping on the 3-D glasses puts visitors in a setting that has realistic images. The 4-D Special FX Theater® ignites all the senses with hi-def digital 3-D combined with special effects, such as mist, wind and smoke. These attractions are in the Visitors Center, which also features the Garden Restaurant overlooking the Offatts Bayou.
