Tomball

Region: Gulf Coast

City in northwest Harris County was named for Thomas H. Ball, a prominent Houston attorney and U.S. Congressman from Texas at the turn of the century. On May 27, 1933, an oil gusher erupted near the city starting an oil boom. Community growth is linked to the expanding population of Houston.

David Wayne Hooks Airport is the state's largest privately owned airport. Antique shops dot downtown along with other shopping opportunities.

The city's medical facilities include Tomball Regional Hospital and the Texas Sports Medicine Clinic. Home to Tomball College.

Nearby Cities: Spring, Shenandoah, Brookshire, Coldspring, Plantersville, Mont Belvieu, more...
