On the Brazos River in Baylor County, this city was established in 1879 by settlers from Oregon. Artist Tom Lea was contracted in April 1941 to paint a mural for the Seymour Post Office depicting early life in Seymour and Baylor County, when the Comanche tribes were an integral part of life. Recreational activities include swimming, boating, tennis and RV hookups. Salt Fork River Estates Golf Course offers a nine-hole golf course, swimming pool and fishing pond.
