Named for Quanah Parker, last great chief of the Comanche tribe, son of a
Comanche chief and captive anglo Cynthia Ann Parker. (See Old Fort Parker

region.)
On site is a historic building, built in 1910 along the Kansas City, Mexico
and Orient Railroad. The building, now a restaurant, was moved to its current
site on U.S. 287.
Historic sites around the city include the Hardeman County Courthouse, Quanah
Parker Memorial & Walkway, Hardeman County Veterans Monument, Trinity
Episcopal and First Presbyterian churches, and the Capt. Bill McDonald marker.
Quanah is a Texas Main Street City, so enjoy the restorations, restaurants,

Annual events include a rodeo, Fall Festival, Christmas parade/festival and
Three Rivers Cowboy Ball and more.
