Known as "Biggest Little Town in the World," is located 197 miles west of San
Antonio and 113 miles east of Fort Stockton on I-10. The seat of Crockett
County, Ozona is the only town in the county's 3,215 square miles. A vast
ranching and oil area, it also is one of nation's top areas for wool and mohair
production. In Edwards Plateau region, hunters find white-tailed deer, javelina
and upland game birds. Ozona Municipal Airport is used by hunters and fly-in
groups year-round. The county, organized in 1891, is named for Davy Crockett and
is the eighth largest of all 254 counties in Texas. Twelve historical markers,

city.
