Groom was named for an early cattleman, B.B. Groom. The town site was laid
out in 1903 near the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railroad. The city is in the
southeastern corner of Carson County. Be sure to visit the Blessed Mary
Restaurant, the nonprofit eatery with only a jug for a cash register and where
all proceeds are donated to charities. Located off I-40 on Exit
112.
