Region: Panhandle Plains
First settled about 1880, a post office was established here in 1886 before
the town site was designated. The city was incorporated in 1909 when the
railroad built through and land value jumped to $7 per acre. It is now a
commercial and distribution center for large agricultural and ranching area.
W. Lee Colburn Park offers 14 spaces for recreational vehicles with full
hookups.
