A 20,985-acre impoundment on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River, partly edged by Sam Houston National Forest. At lakeside are marinas and campgrounds. Dam and observation point off Texas 105 west of Conroe. Other access from I-45 via F.M. 1097 west, and F.M. 830 west.
