Whitney

Established in 1879 when the Texas Central Railroad crossed the Hill County, this community was named for Charles Whitney of New York, a major railroad stockholder. It is now an agricultural/recreational center, gateway to popular Lakes Aquilla and Whitney, and one of the leading water sport and lake resort areas of Texas. This area is close to many RV parks, 2,200 acres of equestrian riding trails, three golf courses and four full-service marinas.
